Leeds police Tuesday announced the end of a two-month drug investigation that led to 13 arrests in connection with crack cocaine distribution.

Police are still seeking four individuals on related charges, Leeds Police Chief Tony Hudson said. In all, 17 people face 32 felony and misdemeanor counts of drug or drug-related crimes, covering possession, distribution, drug paraphernalia and obstruction of justice.

Sgt. Jay Fondren said the arrests dealt with unrelated dealers who had been living and working in the Moody and Leeds area.

"Up to this point, this is the biggest operation that we've been involved in, as far as the numbers go," he said. "But we expect it to be the first of many."

The felony arrests include:

Casey Shell, 25, Leeds.

Ward Robinson, 43, Leeds.

Jacob Pilgrim, 25, Leeds.

Patrick Rogers, 26, Leeds.

Marnell Mayfield, 28, Leeds.

David Kelly, 53, Leeds.

Anthony Taylor, 18, Leeds.

Johnny Walton, 42, Leeds.

Patrick Williamson, 28, Moody.

Roosevelt Jones, 35, Leeds.

All were initially taken to the Jefferson County Jail. Shell and Pilgrim were later released on bonds of $60,000 and $10,000, respectively. As of late Tuesday afternoon, the others remained in jail with bond amounts set from $7,500 to $40,000.

Police arrested two other people on related misdemeanor charges, while a 16-year-old Leeds male juvenile was arrested on two counts of distribution.

The department used a new officer, Suzanne Orange, in several undercover drug purchases involving street and mid-level dealers, Hudson said. Police said some of those arrested used juveniles to distribute crack cocaine. An undisclosed amount of marijuana was also seized, Fondren said.

In addition, police charged one man with unlawful distribution of an imitation controlled substance after he sold sheet rock as crack cocaine. Another misdemeanor charge involved stealing money from Orange during a deal, Fondren said.

Police said additional arrests could follow as a result of the investigation.

"We're not going to slow down. We're going to go after these folks," Fondren said.
